2025 China Institute of Communications Forum Success in Urumqi
In his speech, Ma Xinbin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Xinjiang University, stated that Xinjiang's unique multilingual environment, border security needs, and vast application scenarios provide a natural testing ground for innovation in information and communication technology. Leveraging this advantage, Xinjiang University's computer science discipline has achieved a series of breakthroughs. Facing the new wave of communications driven by AI and 6G, the university looks forward to using this forum as a bridge to deepen cooperation with all parties, collaborate on key issues and applied research, and contribute wisdom and strength to building a cyber power and high-quality economic and social development in Xinjiang.
In the keynote speech session, experts and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics such as network intelligence, key 6G technologies, low-altitude economics, and wide-area collaborative communications, presenting high-level academic ideas and innovative results. Yin Hao, a researcher at the Institute of Systems Engineering at the Academy of Military Sciences, spoke on the topic of "Network Cognition Theory and Key Technologies," sharing technical insights on network cognition and providing new directions for the evolution of network intelligence. Professor Zhang Ping of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications spoke on the topic of "Intelligent and Simple Networks: The Integration and Coexistence of Intelligence and Communications," emphasizing that the future development of 6G should not simply be an extension of 5G, but should form a new paradigm through the deep integration of intelligence and communications. Academician Zhuang Weihua of the Canadian Academy of Engineering presented a speech titled "6G Intelligent Network Management," sharing the latest research findings on 6G network architecture and management. Wang Xiaoyun, Chief Engineer and Chief Scientist of China Mobile Communications Group, delivered a report titled "Intelligent Communication Network (ACN) - A New Transformation in 6G Networks," introducing new trends in 6G network evolution from an operator's perspective and proposing the concept and application prospects of the Intelligent Communication Network (ACN). Wu Qihui, Vice President of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, presented a speech titled "Low-Altitude Spectrum Security and Low-Altitude Power Inspection," focusing on spectrum security and drone network applications in the context of the low-altitude economy. Tao Xiaoming, Dean of the School of Computer Science and Technology at Xinjiang University, presented a speech titled "Wide-Area Collaborative Computing and Communication," sharing the latest research findings on wide-area collaborative communication in multimedia computing and semantic communication. The keynote speeches were rich in content and profound in thought, presenting a high-level academic feast for the attendees, covering cutting-edge theory and engineering practice.
The Young Scientists Symposium held on the afternoon of August 1st continued the Blue Ocean Forum's focus on the development of young talent. Professor Zhang Wenjun of Shanghai Jiao Tong University first delivered a keynote speech titled "Learning for Application: From Practice to Practice," sharing his experiences solving problems through learning, uncovering issues through practice, and anticipating them through reflection. During the exchange session, participating experts and young researchers shared their respective achievements and accumulated practical experience in their fields, while also raising concerns and suggestions for development along the way. The exchange of ideas was lively and the atmosphere was vibrant. By the end of the conference, the participants were reluctant to leave, demonstrating the young researchers' enthusiasm for academic exchange and their desire for growth and advancement.
This forum featured five special sessions covering cutting-edge topics and diverse research areas, fully showcasing the vitality of academic and technological innovation in the information and communications field. During the "China Communications Journal Honor Moment" session, certificates were presented to editorial board members and new deputy editors-in-chief for outstanding contributions in 2024.
This year's Blue Ocean Forum, guided by the Information Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, is hosted by the China Institute of Communications and China Communications Magazine Co., Ltd., and organized by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Institute of Communications. It is co-organized by Xinjiang University, China Mobile Communications Group Design Institute Co., Ltd., China Mobile Communications Group Xinjiang Co., Ltd., China Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. Research Institute, and Beijing Sentinel Technology Co., Ltd. The forum focuses on cutting-edge thinking and scientific innovation in AI and 6G, promoting high-quality development in the information and communications sector.
